The BBC have just announced the nominations for BBC Sports Personality of the Year and… no nomination for Chrissie Wellington. What a disappointment.
The nominations are:
- Andrew Strauss (Cricket)
- David Haye (Boxer)
- Andy Murray (Tennis)
- Tom Daley (Diving)
- Jessica Ennis (heptathlete)
- Ryan Giggs (footballer)
- Jenson Button (Motor racing)
- Beth Tweddle (gymnastics)
- Mark Cavendish (cyclist)
- Philips Idowu (triple jumper)
So what does someone who has won every Ironman she’s ever entered and broke the Kona course record got to do to get a nomination. Obviously win a few low ranking tennis tournaments for a start; or win a single gold medal at the World Athletics Championships.
I’m not impressed.
