I think I’ve covered what I did in 2009 in altogether too much detail in previous posts, so I’m not going to review it again in my end of year/beginning of year post. Instead I’m going to look forward to 2010. I briefly toyed with the blogger 365 meme (i.e. a blogpost every day for 365 days) but since it seems that I failed to publish a post yesterday, that idea has already gone out of the window. Besides which, 365 blog posts would rapidly develop into the kind of navel gazing that so many folk deride and sneer at us bloggers for. So blogging for 2010 will follow the same pattern as before with intermittent ramblings about triathlon, cycling and other matters of interest to me.
2010 Targets
- Get down to a racing weight of below 65 kg. I lined up at the start of Ironman UK at 67 kg (10 stone 7 1/2 lbs) and lost a couple more after that. This was a massive improvement on the year before when I weighed in at 78 kg, and, according to Wii Fit, since my ideal weight is 62.1 kg (yeah, right), I ought to be able to make 65 kg reasonably comfortably;
- Finish the Fred Whitton in under 8 hours (2009′s time was 8 hours 13 minutes);
- Finish Ironman UK in under 13 hours (improving by just over 2 hours).
Whatever targets you’ve set yourself for 2010, I hope you find the strength and stay injury free enough to see them through.
See you on the start line!
