Shabby and disreputable

Can anyone come up with another example of an unemployed journalist being sued for bringing a sporting governing body into disrepute and said journalist being supported in his legal fees by fans of the sport? That’s the incredible position that Paul Kimmage finds himself in. He’s being sued in a Swiss court by Pat McQuaid president of the UCI and past- president Hein Verbruggen. I won’t recount the shabby and vindictive reasoning behind this court case, instead I would recommend you read this blogpost on the Redkiteprayer blog. So far public subscription has raised nearly $40,000 in Kimmage’s defence.
